The Khalil Center approach is to offer a holistic integrative approach to counseling/therapy. Cultural/Spiritual competence is emphasized and Khalil Center integrates aspects of the psychological literature on best practices for application in counseling/therapy.

Psychotherapy or Counseling is a process of intervention that is rooted in the idea of the “talking cure”. This process is guided by extensive research done on human behavior and empirically validated ways of intervening to alleviate emotional distress. Therapists may operate from various different therapeutic modalities tailored to the unique needs of each client. Psychotherapy is often process oriented. This means that therapists help clients uncover some of the psychological patterns of thinking, identifiable emotions or behaviors that contribute to the maintenance of the problem. This is done in a collaborative manner, in an effort to help clients actualize their own potential in overcoming their unique challenges.
